New Maplelea Release, Part 2

Hello again!

We’ll go a bit faster here, just so it doesn’t take ages, because there’s actually a lot of new stuff. I mean, it’s their 20th anniversary, after all! They came out with a whole camp collection this year!

So, anyway . . .

Non-camp stuff first.

#1 – All Canadian Jacket

Classic varsity jacket but Canada-themed. Kinda cool, not much to say here.

#2 – Festive Farm Truck PJs

This year’s matching doll/whole family pjs. Cute, but all of their Canadiana winter family pajamas are starting to blur together in my head. Still, Hailey-look-alike looks really cute there!

#3 – Far North Parka

Classic Canadian – not a lot to say? Actually, no, one thing. They’re calling those pants snow-pants, but they really don’t look bulky enough to me.

#4 – Rocky Mountain Sweater

I swear they had a similar release sweater last year, but oh well. Looks warm, in any case.

#5 – Whimsical Witch

Ah, yes, now this is Something! Very pink, which is not the witchiest of colours, but hey, it’s fun, it’s a lot, I can imagine kids loving it! I do think the upturned shoes are the best part.

Also, this is not the first time Maplelea has done a witch costume. Sometime pre-2014, there was this outfit, called, and I quote “Wizardly Witch” XD (It looks very cool though!)

#6 – Moose Slippers

These remind me of Nicki Hoffman’s monkey slippers!! They’re so silly, but so cute!

#7 – Rural Roots Dress set

Very cute, very rustic chic. Boots are not my style, but I do approve of the rest! Not something I could picture my dolls in though.

#8 – Rural Roots Pants Set

Now this, yes, my dolls would so steal this! Perhaps I shall have to make collared shirts and pants with suspenders!

(Also, irrelevant, but – I made myself a bow tie recently and it’s purple and it’s awesome!)

#9 – Northwest Boots

Leonie would so wear these! Why didn’t they put them in her collection instead of the general Maplelea one? Nicole would also so wear these, but she’s not getting them. Maybe something else, my dear.

#10 – Walkin’ in Moccasins

Redesign of the old moccasins, not much to say.

#11 – Lunar New Year Outfit

Ooh, now this is exciting! Maplelea hasn’t really branched much into other cultures before (they’ve stayed pretty focused on white Canadians), and I hope they continue to go in this direction. Can’t speak on the authenticity, but I do think it’s really cool how there are tassels strung in the pleats!

#12 – Canyon’s Dress

Also, this rocks!! Nicely done, Maplelea and Teresa Snow (that’s who designed it for Maplelea)! They actually put this on the front cover of the new catalogue and it occupies a full page in it. Definitely important to include Indigenous regalia. Hopefully there’ll be more to come!

And that’s all for the non-camp stuff, so now onto the Camp Maplelea collection.

#1 – Explore More (shoes not included)

The pockets are great, but it’s too much grey at once! Still, that’s a shirt I’d love to steal.

#2 – Adventure Outdoors outfit and #3 – Run Free shoes

Cute (which I kept mistyping as “Vute”, oops!), casual, but not super special, I think.

#4 – Walk in the Wild outfit and #5 – Float Your Boat shoes

Now this outfit I like! It’s simple, but it’s still got a lot of detail to it, and of course, doll jackets are adorable. And so are doll baseball caps, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how much I like those capris!

#6 – Jump in the Lake Swimsuit

Can I just say, great name! Love that. And the colours are very nice together.

#7 – Keep on Kayaking

Also cool, I like the different coloured sleeves. Sophie would wear a bathing suit like this.

#8 – Take a Hike

This is one of my favourite parts of this collection! I’m a sucker for plaid, a sucker for doll tank tops and those shorts look like quick-dry ones and so very accurate!

#9 – Break the Trail

I thought these were brown, but they’re actually purple. They’re a lot like the Canyon Falls boots that my dolls have, minus the butterflies, obviously.

#10 – Paddle Your Canoe (shoes not included)

Not sure the colours all go together, but the mix and match potential is definitely here! Also, doll hoodie! What more need I say?

#11 – Happy Camper PJs

Ah, yes, now this is also one of my favourites! Very simple, very much like pajamas I would wear, very much my colours, just yes! Maybe I’ll get this at some point.

Alright, so that concludes the new Maplelea release! Which outfit is your favourite? Also, just curious, do any of you have Maplelea dolls or clothing? Would you consider getting any?

  1. This is very cool, I love when you do reviews of Maplelea things! My favourites might be take a hike and the rural roots dress set – I don’t know if any of my dolls would wear it, but it’s so cute!
Also, yes, I have a Maplelea doll, I have Saila, but you knew that!

    1. Thanks! I really like doing them too! (At this point though, I think cataloguing and knowing all Maplelea outfits is one of my hobbies . . . ooops?) Take a Hike is adorable, I definitely agree there! Part of me wants to say that Charlotte would totally wear the Rural Roots dress set, though she’s a little small. I think perhaps Saila or Hailey would wear parts of it, but maybe not all as one outfit?
I do know that, but thank you for telling me anyway! XD
