Happy Dollidays #3 – “Go Caroling”

Here are your carollers! From left to right, Victoria, Sophie and Nicole, in those colours.

Frosty the Snowman was a jolly happy soul – hey, just like me!

With a corn cob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal

Not like me!

Frosty the Snowman is a fairytale they say

He was made of snow, but the children know how he came to life one day

There must have been some magic in that old top hat they found

For when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around

Oh, Frosty the Snowman was alive as he could be

And the children say he could laugh and play just the same as you and me
See? I told you he was like me!

Frosty the Snowman knew the sun was hot that day

So he said, “Let’s run, and we’ll have some fun now before I melt away”

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening? In the garden, snow is glistening

A beautiful sightWe’re very happy tonight

Walking in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebirdHere to stay is a new bird

To sing a love songWhile we stroll along

Walking in a winter wonderland

In the meadow, we can build a snowman – or a snow angel! We’ll pretend that he is Parson Brown

He’ll say, are you married? We’ll say, no manBut you can do the job when you’re in town

This is a really weird song!

*whispers* It’s okay, just sing it anyway.

Later on, we’ll conspireAs we dream by the fireTo face unafraidThe plans that we’ve madeWalking in a winter wonderland

*  *  *

Dashing through the snow,

After the horse for our open sleigh

O’er the fields we go
Laughing all the way

Bells on myself ring

Making spirits bright

What fun it is to ride and sing

A sleighin’ song tonight

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Oh what fun it is to chase a horse for our open sleigh, hey!

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way,

Oh what fun it is to chase a horse for our open sleigh!

Um, looks like my wish isn’t happening . . .

Happy Holidays from everyone at Hedgehog Hollow!

This includes: Sophie (that’s me!), Victoria, Nicole, Horsey Dear, Glenn, Wilhelmina, Mama Hazel, Jack Sloth and possibly ForestPoodle88, but we’re still deciding if we should grant our human a membership.

Hey! I’m an integral part of this blog!

Integral? What’s that? Is it like integers? Okay, I kinda like math, so maybe you can stay, but there’s no math here!!

Oh, Sophie!

Anyway, have a great break, and if you like snow, I hope you get some! I sure have some, clearly, and then because I’ve still got my aircast on, I kept getting it in my toes while taking pictures . . . They were sooo cold by the end! Granted, my fingers were too, but at least it wasn’t too cold of a day. And hey, I got this post done before the end of the year! I really did want it done for Christmas, but then the 24th was super cold here (weather was bad, my grandparents didn’t end up coming until the next morning because of it) and I’ve been pretty busy since, but I got out yesterday to take these. I did it in the front yard and the people walking by were actually really nice! One stranger said the scene I had set up would make a great picture, another one had two dogs that wanted to play with the “American dolls” XD but she wasn’t going to let them. Never mind that it’s American GIRL dolls and that my dolls aren’t even those! She also asked if I was taking pictures or leaving the dolls out there . . . She was really nice though. Oh, and I saw my next-door neighbour, who also thought what I was doing was really sweet. I generally get pretty nervous taking doll pictures outside, especially ’cause I’m not exactly a kid anymore, but all the people who passed were really nice, so I probably don’t need to worry! :)

Anyway for a second time, Happy Dollidays!

  1. I loved this post! The photos are all so cute, and so well posed, and I like that you changed some of the lyrics. Jingle bells was so funny with the dolls chasing Horsey Dear!
