Mystery Blogger Award!

Hello, hello! Today is a very, very exciting day in Hedgehog Hollow history!

You see, we’ve been nominated for our first ever award! It’s the Mystery Blogger Award!

Awards apparently have rules, but I’m not sure if I have to state them all at the beginning or as I go through them . . . I’m going with the latter for now, but if I’m not supposed to, please tell me.

Rule #1: Have Mystery Blogger Award logo on your blog.

Here it is!

Rule #2: Mention Okoto Enigma (, the creator of the award!

I have no idea who Okoto Enigma is, but thank you for creating this lovely award.

Rule #3: Thank the blogger who nominated you, as well as have a link to their blog.

Story time! A week or so ago I was on the computer and I checked my email, and the best thing happened! I had a blog post just waiting for me in my inbox, from Katie over at All Doll’d Up! Seriously, I love it when there are new blog posts anywhere and Katie is one of my favourite bloggers. So anyhow, she had been nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award and I was enjoying the post very much, because Katie is super funny, and then I got to the end, where she nominated other people . . . and then, there it was! My name, in a list of other amazing doll bloggers! Anyway, we’re here right now thanks to Katie, and you should most definitely check out her blog!

But wait, that’s not all! As I was in the process of writing this post, I got nominated by Jaffa at The World of My Dolls too! Jaffa is another great doll blogger, so you should definitely check her blog out too!

Rule #4: Answer five questions the blogger who nominated you gave you.

Yay! Here’s the exciting part! The part I get to do twice!

First the questions from Katie:

1: First doll or stuffie?

I think I got my first stuffed animal the day I was born, and I may have gotten more than one, so I’m not sure on that one . . . but my first doll was a baby doll that I called Goldie. Sophie, the first doll I got that I actually show here on the blog, wears Goldie’s yellow sleepers sometimes. I must have been pretty little, because I don’t remember getting either of them. :)

2: What inspires you most as a blogger?

You! Yeah, other doll bloggers and the amazing things they come up with. Also just seeing my dolls sitting in my room and going, “oh, they’re so cute” and then dreaming up some post.

3: How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Um, a little bit? I have to think about this one, and I did a small amount of research, which I probably wasn’t supposed to, but a woodchuck is a groundhog, and apparently some chew wood! But actually, wait, chucking wood is not chewing it, so who knows!

Uh, I got a answer.

Sure, Soph. Go ahead.

None, ’cause if a woodchuck could chuck wood, it wouldn’t make a very confusing tongue twister and that WOODn’t be much fun!

4: What’s something you’d really like to do on your blog someday?

I’d really like to digitize some of the doll clothing sewing patterns I’ve made (I’ve made quite a lot of doll clothes . . .) and post them up here for everyone else to use too. I’m just not sure how yet.

5: Favorite of post of yours?

Um . . . I have a lot of favourites, but I really like COVID-19 or the Underworld | A Hallowe’en Photostory and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas – Hedgehog Hollow Style. I think it’s a coincidence that they’re both holiday related. ;)

And now for the questions from Jaffa:

1: What is your favorite hobby?

Um, I somehow have a lot of hobbies, so probably sewing, but really also reading and drawing and writing. And if sailing counts as a hobby, that too! Lots of things that I like to do!

2: What’s your favorite thing to write about?

The dolls! Well, I actually do more writing than just what you see here, but still, the dolls are always funny and it’s super enjoyable writing about them!

3: If you could have any type of animal in the world (wild or tame) as pet, what would it be?

I want to say a wolf, because they’re super cool, but I’m not sure I’d want one as a pet. Maybe just a wolf as a friend? That’d be nice.

4: If you could meet any famous person (dead or living), who would it be?

Lady Olave Baden-Powell, wife of the founder of both Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. She did a lot to help out Guiding and I think it’d be super interesting to talk to her about what Guiding, and life in general, was like in the past.

5: What is your dream vacation?

I’d love to visit the rest of the Canadian provinces and territories. I’ve visited about half of them so far. So, all three territories (Nunavut, Yukon, and North-West Territories, for those unfamiliar), plus Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and Newfoundland and Labrador are definite dreams of mine.

Rule #5: Tell the viewers 3 things about yourself.

I really should tell you 6 things, but I can’t think of any more!

1: I love long or lesser-known words, but half the time I’m terrible at pronouncing them! XD I can’t count the amount of times someone has – finally – used a word that I’ve known for years and I’ve said “That’s how you say it?!??!” because I was saying it in my head completely differently!

2: Half the time when I write things, I do it with a fountain pen (almost always with coloured ink in it), because, why not?

3: I really like fabric with old-fashioned florals, whether they’re the small scattered kind, or large rose-like things.

Rule #6: Share a link to your best blog post

Oh, dear . . . Best according to me, or to my followers?

Being as I already told you my favourites, I think I’ll do the best one according to you, dear followers, which seems to be If You Can’t Beat ‘Em, Join ‘Em | A Photostory, which I’m also really proud of!

Rule #7: Choose 10-20 bloggers to nominate and notify them that they were nominated.

Alright. I do not know of enough bloggers, because a ton have already been nominated (which IS super exciting, even if it makes this a little tricky).

Mariam of Abriella’s

Sadie of Cinnamon Bears and Salsa AG

You! Even if you’ve already done it, even if you are reading this post years into the future, even if I have no clue who you are! You can do it! You’ve read this paragraph in which I nominate you, so if you’d like to, consider it yours to do!

Oops, that’s a very short list.

Rule #8: Ask your nominees 5 questions, including 1 weird and funny one

1: If you had an octopus, what would happen?

2: What’s something unusual about you or that you like to do?

3: If you were naming a boat or train or similar, what would you name it?

4: What’s your favourite colour, and why?

5: Do you like winter?

Um, I think most of those questions are weird, but hey, the answers will be interesting!

Rule #9: Continue the chain.

Yes, the chain has been continued!

Thanks to both Jaffa and Katie – I had a lot of fun doing this and I hope you do too!
