International Beading Week – Day 8 – Watermelon

My siblings and I love those random ‘holidays’.😄 Like Camera Day or Take Your Pants For A Walk Day!

So today, in honour of Watermelon Day, I created a pattern for a watermelon “bead pet”. (No, it is not a pet.😜) It is pretty simple, not even as complicated as the panda, but it looks really cute when done with thinner wire and smaller seed beads (with seed beads, the higher the number, the smaller the bead). (Mine is done in size 10 seed beads, which would also make really cute earrings if my ears were pierced.)

Materials Needed:

  • 7 black beads (I didn’t have black, so I used iridescent beads)
  • 8 green beads
  • 8 white beads
  • 27 pink or red beads
  • wire

Simply follow the pattern above and the instructions given at the start of the week for the octopus body, and you will have your own watermelon slice in no time!

Happy Beading,
